Campus Health's Sexual Wellness Modules

Before arriving at Tulane, you should complete three Sexual Wellness modules: Sexual Misconduct for Students, Sexual Health for Students, and Sexual Literacy for Students.

Why is Sexual Wellness learning essential at
Tulane University?

At Tulane, we would like students to develop an understanding of healthy sexuality that is defined by having the knowledge and power to express sexuality in ways that enrich their lives and to approach sexual interactions and relationships from a perspective that is consensual, respectful and informed. The Campus Health Sexual Health for Students and Sexual Literacy for Students Pre-Matriculation Curriculum offers an opportunity for Tulane students to develop their own concept of healthy sexuality. The curriculum achieves this by providing medically-accurate, queer-inclusive, and sex positive comprehensive sexual health education.

Topics covered in the modules include: consent and healthy relationships; adolescent development; sexual and reproductive anatomy and physiology; gender identity and expression; sexual identity and orientation; interpersonal and sexual violence; contraception, pregnancy, and reproduction; and HIV and other STDs/STIs. Rather than focusing exclusively on preventing negative health outcomes, this curriculum approaches sexual health from a holistic perspective that understands healthy sexuality and sexual behavior as a tool for violence prevention and a foundational element of our overall well-being and health.
